From 2009 Cloud Seeding operations in Tasmania are conducted on every suitable day from 28th April to 31st October each year. In previous years the cloud seeding season covered the period from 1st April to 30th November. Flight maps for seeding flights will be made available as soon as possible, the latest at the end of each month.
Reading the map
Blue and red lines on the maps indicate the flight path of the cloud seeding aircraft with the red line marking the times when seeding took place.
The seeding track is located 1/2 hour upwind from the target area. The location depends on wind direction and wind speed at seeding altitude on the day.
